Rail Industry Safety Induction (RISI) – NSW

NSW RISI training in Beresfield NSW.

Go-Train Industry Pty Ltd is a National Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and we have been approved by Sydney Trains to deliver SX52 Safely access the rail corridor (RISI) training.

The Rail Safety Worker Induction (RSW or RISI) training is a mandatory requirement for all contractors who perform work in the NSW rail corridors. This covers the network between Sydney, Nowra, Lithgow and Broadmeadow.

RISI Card is also recognised by Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) and UGL Regional Linx (UGLRL) and will allow holders to safely access the rail corridor throughout NSW in the areas managed by these organisations.


Duration:

Training and assessment: One day, 8.00 am – 3.00 pm, in a classroom and non-live rail environment.

Award received on completion:

On successful completion of all components of training and assessment, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit:

  • TLIF0020 Safely access the rail corridor

Mandatory Entry Requirements:

This course may not be suitable for everyone. Participants must:

  • Be able to speak and understand English. Applicants will need to pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to commencement of the RISI training.
  • Have completed a Sydney Trains Category 1, 2 or 3 Medical, which is required to apply for an RIW Card.

Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card Requirements:

Before entering the NSW Rail Network, an individual must be in possession of a valid RIW card. The Rail Industry Worker Program (RIW) is a national competency management framework for rail workers across Australia.

Once you have completed training your employer can apply for a RIW card via the RIW website www.riw.net.au on your behalf. If students supply their RIW Card number to Go-Train, we will upload their RISI certificate to their RIW profile on completion.
