ARTC NSW Hand Signaller – Level 1 & 2
ARTC NSW Handsignalling Level 1
This is a general qualification for a person to be qualified and
employed as a Hand Signaller Level 1 on the ARTC network. This
course is about protecting worksites located on the network.
The units delivered are:
- TLIF0027 Perform lookout duties
- TLIF2082 Perform handsignaller duties
- TLIW0007 Operate under track protection rules
- TLIF2097 Use audible track warning devices
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to
this course at the time of publication.

How long does it take?
This training is conducted over one day from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm
each day and then a further assessment day after the completion of
on-the-job learning.
ARTC NSW Handsignalling Level 2
This is a general qualification for a person to be qualified and
employed as a Hand Signaller on the ARTC network. This course is
about conducting hand signalling duties at level crossings and
fixed signals.
The units delivered are:
- TLIC0025 Pilot rail traffic within work on track authority
limits - TLIW2037 Clip and secure points

this course at the time of publication.
