There are many entry points to becoming a Train Driver – Second Person, which

can take anywhere from 9 months to 5 years depending on your exposure,
capabilities and employer.
Each component (called ‘stages’) is a pre-requisite for entry into
the next stage of the GoTrain Train Driver school. You can participate in any
stage of the GoTrain Train Driver school, as long as you have done the
previous stage (and your training is still current).

Operators, and organise a meet and greet session during your training. Some
Labour Hire companies interview participants for potential employment on
completion of the course, for roles such as a Trainee Second Person.
