Description
This course involves the skills and knowledge required to safely shunt rail vehicles in accordance with safeworking and organisational, policies and procedures.
It includes preparing to shunt rail vehicles for loading/unloading, making up or breaking up trains and placing vehicles for operational and/or maintenance purposes. It also includes coupling, uncoupling and securing rail vehicles.

How long does it take?
This course is conducted over 2 days from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm each day and then logbook completion
Will I need to undertake work placement?
Yes. Once you complete the training, you are required to complete a logbook, which records your experience on the job. Your supervisor or mentor will be required to sign off each area of the logbook as you demonstrate your competency.
