REPs NZ
www.reps.org.nz

REPs operates a registration body for exercise professionals, exercise facilities and education providers in New Zealand. REPs is recognised by many organisations, including Fitness New Zealand (the industry association), and the International Confederation for Registers of Exercise Professionals.

REPs registration is the industry standard, and the majority of exercise facilities require any person based at their facility to be registered with REPs at the appropriate level. In effect REPs registration is the annual "licence to work" in the NZ exercise industry. Further, registration with REPs provides instant recognition both in New Zealand and in over 30 other countries (through ICREPs).

One of the requirements of exercise professionals re-registering with REPs is ensuring adequate ongoing education. Ongoing education with REPs is measured by a system of credits called Continuing Education Credits (CECs).Each year an exercise professional must earn 30 CECs per year. These may be earned in two ways:

  1. Up to 20 CECs may be earned from working in the industry (subject to working at least 250 hours over a year in an exercise prescription role, or instructing 50 classes a year for group exercise). As a part of re-registration this is verified.

  2. From attending/passing a course that has been allocated CECs.
MENOFITNESS is one of these approved courses. (The list of approved courses, including MENOFITNESS can be found here).

MENOFITNESS has been awarded 3.75 CEC’s by REPs NZ.
