New dedicated rail training facility opened
Registered training organisation Go-Train Industry has opened a new dedicated rail training facility in Tuggerah, NSW.
The facility was opened to meet an increasing demand in NSW for nationally accredited training in the rail operations, rail infrastructure, safeworking and track protection sectors. Managing Director Andrew Bridger said “The Tuggerah site was ideal, as it provided an easily accessible training location for clients in the Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter regions.”
Close to the Hunter coal mining and rail operations industries, the facility is centrally located 45 minutes up the F3 freeway from Sydney, and 40 minutes down the F3 from Newcastle.
The two-storey facility in Tuggerah Business Park has three training rooms and an undercover simulated rail corridor containing a railway track with concrete and timber sleepers which is used for training students in many aspects of track maintenance techniques and practises.
The facility has been roundly applauded by employers and organisations servicing the Hunter Rail industry – as it allows them to send the employees and contractors for training in a controlled environment, without requiring access to a live network and the danger zone.
Go-Train has been proactive in the rail operations training arena for over a decade and now features the expanded capability to provide theory and practical training for locomotive crews and maintainers in a dedicated yard environment.
