This course reflects the packaging requirements for TLI32511 Certificate
II in Rail Infrastructure within the Transport and Logistics Industry Training Package (TLI11 V1.0).

This is a general qualification for a person engaged in the rail infrastructure environment who performs tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a wide variety of contexts. It may involve application of some discretion and judgment in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures. It may also include responsibility for coordinating the work of others.

Who is this course designed for?
This course is not really suitable for new entrants to the rail industry, and is best suited to those with good skills or experience. The breadth, depth and complexity of knowledge and skills delivered would prepare a person to perform a defined range of activities, most of which may be routine and predictable.

We offer 2 specialisation outcomes for students who complete this qualification. Job roles and titles vary across different sectors, however possible job titles relevant to this qualification would include:

  • Senior track maintainer
  • Ganger

Specialisation 2: Track Construction:

  • Senior track maintainer
  • Ganger

Completing the Qualification

To achieve success in this qualification and be awarded a Testamur for TLI32511 Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure you must successfully complete a total of 11 units, comprised of 5 core units plus a total of 6 elective units. from either the Track Maintenance or Track Construction

PLUS

All three of these General Elective Units if you are undertaking Track Construction, or any 2 of these General Elective units if you are undertaking Track Maintenance

  • TLIC2058A Travel medium or heavy self-propelled on track equipment
